began taking ballet and gymnastics classes at the age of 5. The acting
bug bit soon after when her mother enrolled her in a local acting class.
As a child she loved to perform in front of others. “I used to perform
in front of my family and my Grandmother would make everyone give me
money when I was finished.” She performed in plays throughout junior
high and high school always feeling a rush of energy when onstage. After
graduating from high school, she went on to receive a B.A. in Theatre
and B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago.
Since moving to Los Angeles, LaQuita has
appeared in leading, and supporting roles in feature films and in
Television shows, and commercials.
She has worked with a host of Emmy and Golden globe winning actors and
actresses. LaQuita has been featured in newspapers and magazines around
the world following the success of some of her work.
Her love of acting
led her to also writing and producing. Her company, Salsera Productions
LLC has developed many projects from inception to completion. She won an
African Academy Award for her feature film, “Suicide Dolls.” She is
currently developing several projects under her company.
Here’s is what one
news outlet had to say about her work:
formidable young entertainment pros whom I truly believe the Hollywood
Reporter should consider for the annual Next Gen issue. From concept to
execution, they have done a great job, despite the lack of the safety net
and endless resources of the Hollywood studio system.”
